A Barrier To Mechanical Performance

One of the main barriers to mechanical performance is the complex task of preventing water or hydrocarbons seeping into the wrong places! Although they are well known for their ubiquitous ability to seep through seals, they can actually permeate through the molecular structure of just about any material as well, sometimes in embarrassingly large volumes.
Not only can this be dangerous but it can cause anything from the jamming of a photocopier to the failure of missiles, electronics, or power systems. Versaperm's new instrumental technique allows you to measure this to identify materials and arrangements to overcome problems in your specific application.
The system is fast, accurate and gives highly consistent results, enabling it to replace conventional tests which take days, weeks or even months - and even then they are often neither accurate nor consistent. Versaperm's newest range of vapour permeability measurement equipment, with its industry-leading sensor range, can be used across an enormous range of temperatures, pressures and applications.
The system is simple to use, fast and precise, and requires, at most, minimal training to use. It also requires little or, (usually), no re-calibration. Some results can be produced in as little as 30 minutes and accuracy is in the Parts Per Million (PPM) range for most commonly used materials and gases (PPB in some cases).
The highly automated equipment can optionally be configured to measure permeability for a variety of gases including hydrocarbons, solvents, oxygen, carbon dioxide, helium and water vapour.
Versaperm also offers a laboratory testing service and technical consultancy for companies that test too few samples to make the purchase of equipment viable.
